Activities will include :
- Ensure the production plant and utilities are monitored at all times.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently to maximise production. Report immediately safety equipment defects.
- Ensure a safe and efficient restart of equipment after shutdown.
- Minimise environmental impact from flaring and effluents by optimising operation of site of offshore installation.
- Monitor F&G systems and react appropriately to alarms.
- Ensure all production and process upsets are dealt with in an expedient manner.
- Monitor general plant condition, keep production areas tidy, and monitor other ongoing activities within the process areas to maintain housekeeping standards.
- Execute duties as specified in the station bill and emergency response procedures or as directed by the Terminal Manager
- Be conversant/comply with UK Legislation, Company Rules, and Procedures & Instructions relevant to production and wells operations.
- Ensure production of hydrocarbons whilst always adhering to safety performance requirements.
- Be fully aware of the Emergency Response plan for the management of major emergencies, be fully trained and cover the Emergency Response Duties as allocated by the Terminal Manager.
- Ensure commitment to incident free operations is maintained.
- Responsible for completing verification assurance and routine maintenance activities and maintaining quality records.
- Report Production / Injection / Flaring figures accurately
- Raise SAP notifications for defective equipment as appropriate.
- Ensure Opralog report is updated, files and all boards are up to date and maintained with accurate information.
- Maintain comprehensive continual monitoring of all well/process/utility units and make suitable adjustments to ensure process is optimised.
- Be fully aware of production targets (Quantity and Quality) and ensure they are achieved by ‘driving’ production and challenging activities, which involve a risk to attaining daily target.
- Be fully aware of all Operating Procedures and important process parameters.
- Maintain proper process plant records, log sheets and equipment running data sheets, recognise readings outside specified values and inform the Production Supervisor/Production Superintendent should these occur.
- On completion of any maintenance work inspect the plant / equipment for integrity prior to start-up and, when instructed, start the plant/equipment either for test or return to normal service.
- Carry out process systems sampling activities, process sampling and prepare results as required, monitor chemical injection rates and maintain tank levels and stocks.
- Review requirement for raising a Downgraded Situation, participate in risk assessments.
- Countersign permits as required and monitor live permits in PTW system for potential impacts.
- Participate in Task Risk Assessments prior to execution of specific tasks and operations.
- Ensure effective handovers are conducted at the end of shift and tour, both written and verbal.
- Maintain communication and information links and flows with other members of the production shift and personnel working on site.
- Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
Context and environment
- Support the Production Supervisor to safely and efficiently deliver production.
- Fully flexible in attitude, able to adapt to ongoing operations, able to work on both own initiative and with direction of both line, and installation management.
- The focus will be to deliver the best and most balanced production performance in terms of safety, environment, production and cost.
- Based on a rotational 12-hour-shift basis, working both day and night shifts as part of a structured integrated rota, within accepted guidelines, on site based location.
Candidate profile
- Knowledge through a recognised qualification of fluid and gas mechanics or oil and gas industry related discipline.
- Good knowledge of well operations (ideally subsea), flowline and plant systems, processes and operating parameters.
- Experience of on and offshore operations.
- Experience of organising, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work.
- Experience in the control and use of “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) including their procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with personnel at all levels.
- Good logical problem solving skills.
- Ability to use sound rational judgement in decision making.
- Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
- N/SVQ Processing Operations Hydrocarbons level 3 or equivalent.
