The Production Operative – Grade 2 for Leica Biosystems, responsibilities include:
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety Policies to ensure that risk is minimised as much as is reasonably practicable.
- Ensure all products flow through the manufacturing process error free and right first time.
- Complete all documentation according to the principles of GMP. This includes work instruction, documentation processes and training files.
- Strive to ensure all daily productivity targets are met or exceeded.
- Use SAP system for some basic transactional work, for example confirmation of works orders and stock management.
- Take part in departmental projects as required.
- Maintain equipment used as part of normal daily tasks, as required.
This position is part of the Production Department located at Leica BioSystems Newcastle and will be based on site. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Actively participate in daily management activities taking ownership of any actions assigned.
- As part of being a SME (subject matter expert), own a defined process; maintain standard work for the process and take part in Kaizen or other process improvement work.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- There are no fixed education requirements however it is desired that candidates typically need several GCSEs including Maths & English to show they have the required numeracy and literacy levels for this role.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and as an individual for extended periods of time.
- Able to apply problem solving logic and can solve problems.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Working within the constraints of a regulated industry
- Basic computer skills (experience of Excel, Word, SAP preferred).
