Wells Plastics is a busy 24/7 plastic additives and masterbatch manufacturing company based in Stone, Staffordshire. Due to further expansion, we now require permanent fulltime process operators. Previous experience is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be given.

As part of a small team all our staff are highly valued with many employees being with us for 10+ years.

Working in a factory environment you will be responsible for recording, weighing and mixing materials, including chemicals for machine processing, then bagging off and stacking finished product on pallets.

Shift patterns:

4 x 12-hour nights (6pm / 6:15pm / 6:30pm to 6am /6.15am / 6:30am) followed by 4 days off, then 4 x 12-hour days ( 6am /6.15am / 6:30am to 6pm / 6:15pm / 6:30pm ) followed by 4 days off.

Duties:

· Running plastic processing machines (twin screw extruders)

· Booking material on and off

· Mixing materials using blenders

· Bagging and stacking finished goods

· Cleaning down of machines after use

· Working on your own initiative and as part of a team

· Communicating effectively

· Understanding and carrying out basic Health & Safety measures

This is an entry level position:

Level 1 Operator = £13.30 per hour - probation 3 months

Level 2 Operator = £ 14.30 per hour - average progress to L2 would be 3 months

Level 3 Operator = £15.30 per hour – average progress to L3 would be 1 year

Note:

· Some of the chemicals handled on site are hazardous – however all training and PPE will be provided.

· The factory operates loud machines requiring ear protection to be worn at all times

· The ideal candidate will need to be physically fit and have reasonable English and maths skills.
