Cardiff Galvanizers is a family-run specialised metal coatings business based in the heart of Cardiff. We offer galvanizing, powder coating, wet painting, shot blasting, and thermal metal spraying services to our wide-spread customer base.

We are hiring for Production Operatives to work on an alternating days/nights shift pattern in our galvanizing plant, full-time. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided by our experienced team.

Hours and Pay
40 hour week with mandatory overtime (when available) up to a 48-hour working week. Overtime past 48-hours becomes optional.
You will be working an alternating day/night shift pattern:
- Days: Monday to Friday, 07:00 am - 15:45 pm
- Nights: Sunday night to Thursday night, 20:00 pm - 04:45 am
Starting wage is £10.42 per hour, to be increased in accordance with our pay for performance (PFP) system up to £11.17. Enhanced rates for overtime and night shifts, and a monthly production bonus. Paid weekly, every Friday via bank transfer.
Your Responsibilities
- Checking in work and tagging appropriately
- Inspecting work to ensure it matches the customer order and if remedial action is required
- Monitoring the production process
- Operating the production machinery as required, such as lifting equipment, forklift trucks, overhead cranes, etc.
- Performing quality assurance checks throughout the process, escalating and recording quality issues appropriately
- Completing all paperwork required, and recording important information, such as missing items, drilling requirements, quality defects, etc.
- Weighing work and keeping written record
- Reporting faults to supervisor
- Maintaining work areas and equipment
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
