Job description

Production Operative (08:00- 16:00)

Location: Hinckley

Do you have experience within a production/manufacturing environment and are you looking for day shift hours?

Or, are you ready to start a career or develop your skills within production, in a business environment that is invested in your development?

Why Join Hammonds as our full-time Production Operative?

We have exciting opportunities available for additional day shift operatives to join our manufacturing teams based in Hinckley (Nutts Lane and Harrowbrook Industrial Estate). We are currently offering our Production Operatives a permanent opportunity with a starting hourly rate of £10.41 per hour, with overtime available. Our company perks include 31 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays), PerkBox – discounted retailor platform service, preferential PCP Car/Van Leasing Scheme, Service Recognition Scheme, Discounted Purchase Scheme and more!

You will be working predominately Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work, however don’t worry as you won’t be expected to work every weekend! Our Production Operatives work approximately four weekends a year.

The best part is...

You will receive:

  • Time and a 1/3 for every hour worked over your contracted 37.5 hours per week
  • Time and a half for every Saturday worked
  • Hourly rate doubled for every Sunday and Bank Holiday worked

INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE?

Our manufacturing teams work together as part of a collaborative team to bring our customers storage space solutions to life. All of our Production Operatives are passionate about working with people and being part of a team, with a positive, approachable manner and a can-do personality.

Typically, a day in the life of our Production Operative can include:

  • Working at different work stations within the factory, for example when using the Shrink Wrapper, Assembly bench and Packing bench.
  • Assembling products using hand held tools and machines.
  • Picking stock using hand-held scanner.
  • Packaging finished goods safely and securely ready for shipping.
  • Carrying out basic quality and testing checks on the production line.
  • Using lifting equipment such as pump trucks to move product around the factory.

To ensure our customers receive the best possible high-quality product, we do work towards targets and KPIs in line with quality standards, health and safety guidelines and hygiene standards, but don't worry; we'll help you as much as we can to achieve them. We want you to grow and develop as much as possible and our training and induction programme will support you with this.

Whilst experience within a production/warehousing or factory environment would be advantageous, this is not essential. All that we ask is that you are a dedicated individual, self-motivated and eager to learn and develop your skills within a fast-moving business environment.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS OUR PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

At Hammonds, we recognise that it is our people who are our greatest asset, so come and join a team of like-minded individuals and live the Hammonds Way. We live by our three values; to Be Real, have Creativity and Commitment – if you resonate with this and are looking for a new challenge in a business that supports your growth and development, we encourage you to apply to our Production Operative vacancy for immediate consideration.
