Your role...

The Production Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the daily operations, future live planning, and smooth running for WBD’s two production sites based in West London.

In this key role you will work alongside the Resource, Vision and Sound managers to build a clear customer focused team to support our clients and production partners, ensuring that they are able to operate effectively and efficiently within the two production facility bases.

You will be the key contact for ensuring the studio, PCR and production facilities are utilised to their capacity. Being the source of support to production to ensure they are receiving the optimum services and are able to achieve their editorial aspirations.

The role requires the experience and ability to create and define new processes and procedures and inspire others to deliver first class service.

You will manage a team of operational supervisors and coordinators to ensure constant service is maintained and that all work is performed through our facilities to a highest standard.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that the customer experience at are facilities is unrivalled from planning through to production
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all production facilities related issues at both sites, liaising with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors as necessary.
  • Liaise directly with customers to build and deliver their production requirements
  • Develop and implement production facilities management policies and procedures, ensuring that they are consistently followed across both sites.
  • Ensure that all facilities are fully operational, maintained to a high standard, and meet the needs of staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Work collaboratively other ET&O departments within the supply chain i.e. MCR, Ingest, Engineering and Transmission ensuring working relationships and

communication are of the highest standard

  • Work closely with the Resources Manager to schedule allocation of staff against future events
  • Deliver data reports on business performance and costs e.g. staffing, freelancers, travel, facility costs etc.
  • Manage budgets for both sites which will include cost management, invoice

preparation, and accurate reconciliation

  • Support development of internal processes and facilities to support the business
  • Creating learning materials such as training documents and workflow diagrams.
  • Support supervisors with allocating staff and resources in scheduling systems in line with best practice.
  • Analyse and document operational abnormalities; provide timely and accurate information back to the business
  • Support the senior team and coordinate on-air recovery during operational emergencies
  • Provide Managers and Directors of production Operations with timely and accurate information regarding headcount and staffing. Participate in new hire searches and interviews as required
  • Lead internship and diversity programs to enhances career progress within the industry
  • Deputise for the Operations director when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Thorough understanding of studio production and broadcast technology, scheduling rostering and budget management
  • Excellent organiser able to prioritise a complex workload and meet deadlines

individually, and as part of a collaborative team

  • A strong communicator who can influence others. Able to deliver key information in a timely and accurate manner to a range of stakeholders, and at all levels
  • Able to resolve conflict, and supervise a multifunctional team of staff and contractors in a live production environment
  • Strong leadership abilities and the willingness to lead by example
  • Ability to manage change in a positive and constructive manner and understands how to support and guide others
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic leader
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, policies and standards: Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA), Risk Assessments, COSSH, Working atHeight, Electricity at Work, Noise, Manual Handling of Work Equipment.
  • Previous experience scheduling through Xytech Media Pulse and Provys
  • A drive to deliver high standards of customer service.
  • Must be flexible in their approach to support live 24/7 broadcast operations.
