The Role

We are delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Marketing Team.

As Marketing & Production Manager, you will play a key role in managing the Newcastle University brand and visual identity. With a keen eye for detail and a flair for creativity, you will manage a wide range of marketing projects for the organisation, across both print and digital formats, supporting our strategic objectives.

You will work within the Marketing Production Team, liaising with the wider Marketing team and University colleagues, to deliver targeted marketing collateral for multiple audiences.

From prospectuses to photography, and from physical signage to digital events, your organisational and brand management skills will be paramount.

Key Accountabilities
As part of the Marketing Production Team, you will work across all aspects of our services, including:
Marketing and campaigns
Brand and reputation management
Student recruitment
In collaboration with the Head of Content and wider colleagues and specialists, you will support and deliver a wide variety of activities. These will cover:
BRAND: You will be brand champion and play a key role in related projects and activities. You will act as brand consultant for colleagues around the university, offering advice and fielding queries where necessary. You will advise and consult around visual identity – monitoring the external landscape as well as having a keen eye for the collateral being produced by the wider university. You will also have responsibility for our brand asset management platform.
PRODUCTION: Your project management skills will be of paramount importance when it comes to the execution of a wide variety of print and marketing projects. You will liaise both with internal colleagues and external design/print/production suppliers to ensure successful delivery of projects, on time and within budget – and of course adhering to key messages and branding.
PHOTOGRAPHY: You will manage and develop our photography portfolio, with responsibility for the central marketing budget, allocating resource as appropriate. You will act as a photography consultant, liaising with university colleagues and our roster of photographers to ensure that the University’s imagery is current, engaging, and adheres to our brand standards. You will also have oversight and management of the University’s image library. Other duties as required to support the Head of Content and Deputy Director of Marketing.

The Person (Essential)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Practical experience in a similar role Experience of managing a brand within a complex and multi-faceted organisation, and an ability to effectively communicate associated brand standards Experience of managing high quality print projects, from concept and planning, through production and proofing, to execution and delivery. Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time Exceptional proof-reading skills and excellent attention to detail Able to identify and manage internal and external stakeholders, building relationships while meeting user needs. You will understand how to work with stakeholders and contribute to building relationship, using evidence to explain decisions made A strong visual awareness, and experience of working with designers and creatives to achieve exceptional results. Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven success in building relationships, internally and externally, influence and drive decisions Experience of Adobe programmes (Acrobat/Photoshop) would be beneficial Experience of photography and/or managing photoshoots is desirable Knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable

Qualifications Graduate or equivalent qualification/working experience Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification or other relevant marketing/communication professional qualification. (Desirable)
