Production Manager - Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Production Manager to join our Operations team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs.

What would you be doing?

Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, working nationally with retailers such as M&S and Waitrose on their premium private label range and regionally through the Village Bakery brand. As the Production Manager you will be directly contributing to this vision through your core tasks and responsibilities these will include, but are not limited to:

  • Deputising for the Operations Director, acting as their Number Two in all areas of their role.
  • Driving continuous improvement in Manufacturing Performance, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Fire Prevention performance across the six manufacturing centres which comprise the Village Bakery Group
  • Developing the operational team, including appraisals, up-skilling, performance management and mentoring
  • Liaising closely with Technical, Engineering and NPD departments to ensure that high volume, high quality product standards are maintained throughout

Requirements

What skills and qualifications would you need?

To be a successful Specifications Technologist you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

  • Extensive experience in FMCG production, within a Retailer driven environment, and a proven track record of achievement
  • Leadership skills – the ability to maximise the potential of the team
  • Passionate and focussed about achieving excellent Safety & Environmental performance
  • The ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance. Not afraid to challenge others
  • You will have good IT skills and be capable of understanding and reacting to operational data
  • Quick thinking, you will be skilled at problem solving and be an effective communicator to ensure issues get resolved in a timely manner

Desirable

  • Bakery sector experience
