Hours of work:
Monday-Friday (weekend availability may be required): 40 hours
Requirements
- Experience of supervising in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in preventative maintenance programmes
- Previous experience in quality control
- Experience in following all health and safety guidelines and supervising others
- Ability to meet production targets
- Ability to communicate with all members of a team
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To lead, motivate and support the team and become proficient in all aspects of operations
2. Adhere to quality control standards and ensure production output meets quality standards with supporting records being maintained and liaising with the site Quality Technician as required
3. Troubleshooting - utilise resources to respond quickly to conditions
4. Carry out daily, weekly and monthly plant checks. Review and act on unsafe conditions, report any weaknesses in safe systems of work or procedures.
5. Using the tools of the Lean Management system to drive continuous improvement while being aware of associated costs of production and proactively striving to increase productivity whilst maintaining quality of output
6. Regularly inspect and ensure stock levels of materials for production and repairs (spares) are maintained and managed to support continuous production
7. Ensure that perpetual inventory checks are carried out as appropriate for stock in the yard
8. Ensure production schedules are always adhered and escalate any production schedule issues to Supply Chain Planning manager and Production Manager promptly
9. Plan maintenance, and co-ordinate machine down time and machine repairs, liaise with Production Manager and The Maintenance Supervisor regarding preventative and planned maintenance of machinery and ensure routine maintenance tasks are carried out as required
10. Establishment and maintenance of safe working areas. Oversee best practice standards for good housekeeping and tidiness of yard and work area. Undertake spot checks and take necessary corrective action regarding housekeeping, unsafe acts or adherence to HSEQ rules and procedures.
11. Responsible and accountable for the teams H&S Performance. Ensure employee compliance with HSEQ procedures, safe systems of work and legislative requirements. Act on all employee concerns and suggestions.
12. Responsible for issue and enforcement of PPE requirements and for ensuring appropriate equipment and tools are being used by all employees.
13. Liaise with Production and Human Resources regarding monitoring of employee performance including attendance, timekeeping and holiday management
14. Any other duties commensurate with the role and within capabilities
