Summary:
The Production Manager will be responsible for all manufacturing and production activities. This is a role that requires a proactive approach to improving manufacturing whilst overseeing production schedule adherence. The Production Manager is responsible for the management of Production/Assembly staff including their training and development. Lean manufacturing techniques are to be applied in all areas to increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve product quality. The position of Production Manager will require a detailed and critical approach to current work practices and a commitment to observe the company’s strict Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems.

- HND/HNC in Manufacturing, Production, Electronics or equivalent
- Experience and a production supervisor and/or manager
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience in reporting on key productions metrics
- Proficiency in manufacturing/supply chain ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
Planning
- Forward plan manufacturing, working with Sales to establish key customer requirements and Supply Chain to plan externally manufactured PCBAs.
- Communicate any material shortages to Supply Chain that impact planned production output.
People Management
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are in place to achieve production output targets. Manage holiday allowances, appraisal, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
- Delegate ownership and accountability to members of the team with leadership potential.
- Coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team. Set objectives and review ongoing performance of direct reports, utilising a skills matrix to assess individuals.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and improve production efficiency, resolving operational and production technical problems through small or large projects.
- Step back from “firefighting”, use data and trends to plan improvement actions.
Cross-Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with production engineering in the development of manufacturing assembly lines, testing processes and jigs/fixtures.
- Work collaboratively with R&D in the development of new products to ensure efficient and low-cost assembly is achieved.
Reporting
- Plan and report on production output across all manufacturing lines.
- Attend necessary production and management meetings. Reporting out and providing feedback to the organization.
Quality and H&S
- Ensure all finished goods meet established quality standards.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Enforce health & safety regulations in manufacturing. Ensuring standard operating procedures and work instructions are adhered to.

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
