Production Manager
A Production Manager manages all aspects of manufacturing and production operations to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for organizing the formulation, implementation, inspection, supervision, and control of manufacturing processes in the production phase
- Implements, organizes, and arranges complex production processes and flow in order to optimize throughput.
- Utilize Lean and 6S principles to develop solutions throughout the production process as necessary and present justification to leadership for approval
- Responsible for coordinating maintenance of production equipment, turnarounds, and equipment downtown for efficiency and speed
- Lead reliability, compliance, quality, and safety programs
- Work with Engineers in designing for manufacturing
- Responsible for managing staffing to meet production schedules and establishing daily and shift production goals
- Ensures staff training requirements are met, and equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to meet health and safety regulations
- Responsible for managing subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their assigned duties.
- Conduct team meetings as required to achieve proper communication and development of the team
- Evaluate performance against production targets and adjust resource allocation as needed to optimize the quality and cost efficiency of operations.
- Identify problems in the production process and guide improvement plans, shift scheduling, overtime level, training, etc. to plant management.
- Execute Manufacturing Resource Planning using Flowtrac.
- Stage materials orders, picking, kitting, work orders, and stocking levels based on production demands.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in Aeronautical manufacturing and processing technology is required
- Experience in rapidly growing a production line/facility required
- At least 7 years of working experience in an industrial plant is required
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a process manufacturing environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills: including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, repeatedly/continuously
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
