Production Line Leader
Location: Waltham Cross
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Shift: Full-Time 40 hours per week, Monday – Saturday (5 over 6 shift pattern)
Core Hours: 6am – 3pm
We are seeking a Line Leader to join our production facility in Waltham Cross. Working in a high-risk chilled environment, in the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations, whilst ensuring the correct processes and regulations are followed.
Duties include responsibility for all line operations as directed by the Production Manager; assist in managing the daily production plan, staffing levels, staff welfare, time keeping, compliance, efficiency and outputs, Goods In, Stock Control, Traceability, Yield Management and all supporting record keeping.
As a Factory Operative your duties will include, but not limited to:
- Assist in overseeing, leading & developing a team of Factory Production Operatives.
- Help manage the daily / weekly planning of resources (labour, materials, equipment) to ensure optimum productivity with minimum downtime and to enable run speeds, yields and quality in line with specification and forecasts.
- Support Production Manager in the delivery of key performance targets, ensuring attention to detail and that procedures/processes are always followed.
- Help drive a strong technical culture, by effectively managing all working processes within to meet BRC and other external/internal audit criteria, including Complaints, Non-Conformances and Audit readiness.
- Individually responsible for maintaining all legalities, Health & Safety and HACCP control within the department in accordance with Company policy and strict legal guidelines.
- Receive, inspect, record temperatures and store produce upon delivery. Complete and maintain Goods-In paperwork.
- Operate machinery in accordance to training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Minimising wastage.
- To complete daily production records, which include traceability, weight checks and ensure all final products are checked for all quality and hygiene attributes.
- Assisting in the packing of all food products produced.
- Carrying out a variety of cleaning duties as required, to maintain a clean, tidy, safe and food safe working environment.
- Responsible for personal hygiene and all PPE provided, following handwashing and changing process.
- Contribute to providing an efficient, friendly service at all times to create and maintain a customer focused environment.
We are looking for applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:
- Good verbal and written English.
- Successful completion or willing to undertake Level 2 Food Hygiene and Level 2 H&S Awareness certificates.
- Experience of BRC processes and procedures.
- Ideally have food production experience.
- Good time keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude.
