WHAT TO EXPECT

As an Integrated Production System Coach you will be part of a highly motivated and driven team, responsible for supporting and leading aspects of IPS at all levels of the organisation within Solihull Manufacturing. Helping to develop and deliver the IPS strategic approach, with particular focus on the coaching and training of manufacturing roles.

You will be ensuring the appropriate use and understanding of the IPS tool set as well as facilitating, coaching and developing all other IPS strategic training courses, in particular Production Leader Development & Production Leader Academy courses. Working to create and maintain a culture of openness and support throughout JLR.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Leadership:
  • Advocate and drive a One Team Philosophy
  • Lead peers to achieve high standards across their roles & responsibilities.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to existing and development roles within manufacturing.

  • Keeping every individual safe at all times
  • Creating an environment where zero harm becomes inevitable.

  • Ensuring that every process is adhered to and participating in continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and deliver innovation training initiatives for Production Leaders within the business.

  • Work with areas to validate the effectiveness of training, ensuring candidates have implemented learning to the correct standard.
  • Support various people engagement activities with the wider team.

    Effective Communication:
  • Creates an environment for effective and open communication.
  • Recognises / Challenges fairly and constructively to positively influence behaviour and performance of the workgroup. Encourages others to do the same.
  • Engage with learners in a classroom environment, ensuring learning outcomes are achieved.
  • Guides others to deliver effective communication.

    Policy and Procedure:
  • Understands relevant Policies and Procedures (what & why) and is able to apply them fairly and effectively.
  • Leads by example and consistently ensures adherence to working practices through regular coaching.
  • Promotes the importance of attendance at work to support the team.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills in demanding environments.
  • Able to coordinate and motivate teams.
  • Ability to solve problems, analyse data and implement improvements.
  • Naturally strives for continuous improvement and waste reduction in a controlled way.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to work unsupervised.
  • Be flexible; prepared to work anywhere across the plant i.e., other shifts, other technology areas and complete reasonable requested tasks outside of your 'normal' role.
  • Able to operate Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to a high level.
  • Working knowledge of JLR/IPS lean tools
  • Conversant with Communications and Information Technology including common applications (MS/Google)
  • Working experience as a Production Leader within Manufacturing
  • Relevant experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Creative and innovative approach to training
  • Previous experience delivering to large and small groups.
