WHAT TO EXPECT
We have an exciting opportunity to join our plant at JLR Halewood Manufacturing team as a Production Leader.
Our Production Leaders main purpose is to manage and motivate the operational team performance to deliver JLR vehicle production lines at Halewood during their shift.
You will be based in our Plant at the heart of vehicle production – working within Press, Body-in-White, Paint or Trim & Final – and supporting your team as they produce our modern luxury vehicles and lead them in the continuation of our cultural transformation giving everyone the opportunity to Live the Exceptional with Soul.
In this role, you will hold the responsibility for the adherence to standards and processes, ensuring the highest Quality Standards are achieved and support the team in problem solving to ensure sustained improvements to business performance.
As a Production Leader, you’ll coordinate and lead the SQDCPEL (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Environment & Leadership) improvement activities as well as leading all IPS and Kaizen activities for their respective shift while embracing and living our creators code so that you, and your teams, thrive.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Provide day to day leadership and support to the operational team in the completion of production and to ensure scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale and Environment are met.
- Comply to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training corrective action implemented for any accidents.
- Leading their own direct team and working cross-functionally (and working closely with the Shift Production Manager) to drive the cadence for Quality cadence.
- Drive the cadence for Standardisation using the IPS Handbook and Question set.
- Drive the cadence for delivery of OPR/Delivery improvement activities for your respective area and cross-functionally.
- Coordinate all IATF cadence and follow-up for your respective area ensuring closure and compliance.
- Lead the Training and Development for their team Supports associate and team development with responsibility of completing training logs for team / work groups.
- Ensure compliance with Company Attendance Management Process.
- Coordinate the Kaizen activities for the shift.
- Support the Agile in Launch cadence.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Strong leadership behaviour based on the Creators ‘Code.
- Experience and ability to effectively use Practical Problem-Solving Skills.
- Strong Continuous Improvement mind set and experience of implementing Lean principle.
- Strong coaching and development behaviour based on the Creators’ Code.
- Experience of Health and Safety Audits including risk assessments.
- Ability to coordinate and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures & deliverables.
