Job Summary
Here at Avantor, we have an exciting opportunity for Production Laboratory Technician to join our team, based at Hichrom in Reading. Hichrom is part of Avantor and manufactures HPLC columns and supporting chromatography.
This position will be offered on a full-time permanent basis and your working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
You will join a team of three Production Laboratory Technicians and will support Production Team with preparation of production materials, stock and waste management, so our Production Team can have their time back and focus on their core responsibilities.
What we’re looking for?

Experience:
- Laboratory or/and warehouse with strong customer service/customer facing background
- Science degree graduates looking for their first, entry-level position in a laboratory
- Materials movement and materials controlling experience desirable
- We will consider candidates coming from retail and hospitality backgrounds
Who are you?
Self-motivated individual, who can work under minimal direction and handle own workload on a weekly basis. You can be a graduate who is looking for first role in laboratory setting, or someone who wants to gain more experience in laboratory/production environment and materials overseeing and preparation.
How you will thrive and create an impact?
- Prepare materials (solvents, consumables, silica) for Production Team
- Waste disposal, materials and consumables stock and PPE management
- Coordinate delivery of materials and communication with delivery drivers
- Replenish working stocks of hardware and perform cleaning of recovered hardware
