As an Production Engineer you will be identifying production requirements, new systems and processes for new and existing products, while focusing on reducing waste, improving quality and safety, and reducing costs.
Your responsibility would also include designing, testing and implementing of new production tooling, while ensuring that all production data is correct and up to date.
The role is a great blend of hands-on and desk-based engineering within the production and operations teams making it an essential part of our future business plans.

Job Responsibility:
- Identifying and validating product manufacture requirements and assembly processes for new and existing products
- Designing and improving system and process mapping for product integration
- ·Working closely with Engineering and Business Development teams to design, test and implement new production tooling
- Purchasing, commissioning and maintaining of the tooling, mechanical jigs and fixtures across the production department
- Responsible for interface with the engineering and sales teams to ensure all product and test system data is correct ahead of manufacture
- Development and maintenance of production shopfloor software systems
- Provide assistance to the production shopfloor, troubleshoot manufacturing problems and provide training when required
- Upholding of engineering data such as: parts management, BoMs, routings, specifications, test requirements etc and keeping them maintained· Suggest improvements on manufacturing efficiency by analysing, planning and optimising work-flow, space requirements and equipment layout
- Excellent housekeeping within the facility and adherence to QHSE policy and practices
Profile:
- A motivated team player, with proven experience of planning, tracking, and reporting progress, challenges, and risks
- An organised person, largely responsible for managing their own daily tasks and timekeeping
- A strong communicator with rapport skills
- Have a positive outlook on life, enjoy learning with optimism to have fun and take pride in their work
Advantageous:
- Experience or knowledge in fibre optics
- Experience in mechanical and/or electronic engineering
- Familiar with current manufacture processes and procedures
- Experience of electronic & optical components, systems, design, software
- Ability to independently determine best approach to assigned tasks and manage workload
- Understanding manufacturing processes, engineering, scientific and other technical information
- Understanding of Health and Safety practices
