The Position
Applications are invited for a Production Assistant to work at our SPF (UK) Ltd, Doncaster site. As this role involves working in the feed industry it would be beneficial for applicants to have experience in this field. The position available is full time, permanent, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As a Production Assistant your duties and responsibilities will vary based on factory requirements but will include:
- Put sale orders on the Nav system & correspond with customers to confirm this has been actioned.
- Invoice customers & chase outstanding invoices.
- Complete Weighbridge Bridge tickets for finished goods and raw material.
- Plan / book transport, arrange for empty IBC’s to be collected from customers and book hauliers in.
- Apply for health certificates.
- Ensure the wellbeing, safety, and competency of personnel through implementation of the site Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensure that FSSC and ISO requirements are implemented, and accreditation is achieved and maintained
- To ensure that food safety on site is managed and that legislative requirements are met.
- Ensure that product safety, quality, legal and authenticity standards are maintained at all times.
- Complete any additional paperwork for loads, CoA, pick list, ABP’s.
- Filing above paperwork.
- Keep all customs brokers and SPF France updated with upcoming exports.
- Raise PO’s for transport etc.
- Keep sales manager updated with weekly / monthly reports on volumes and tonnage.
- Keep price list updated on Nav and French copy.
- Keep transport outgoings / finances at a cost low.
- Keep SPF France updated with any increase costs for transport, packaging etc
- Help with any customers enquiries.
- Arrange for samples to be sent to customers.
- Order ingredients from suppliers.
- Arrange / book ingredients to SPF or external warehouse.
- Daily stock take – finished product and ingredients.
- Complete dispatch sheets.
- Complete month end reports.
- Requirement to cover annual leave of the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working within an administrative role in a production environment, with experience of stock control.
- Experience working in the feed industry would be advantageous.
- A good standard of formal education, to include GCSE/O levels in English and Maths.
- Computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong numerical skills with good attention to detail.
- Strong written & verbal communication with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong planning & organisational skills.
- Confident, proactive, committed, reliable & flexible team player.
- Be self-motivated and able to prioritise workload.
