PRODUCTION ASSISTANT ROLE - LUCID CREATES
We are looking for a full time Production Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary design & fabrication studio.
Lucid Creates are a design and fabrication studio who create award-winning stages, structures and immersive public art installations which encourage and enable community, sustainability and inclusivity. The Role:
We are looking for someone with strong admin experience and a creative outlook to support the company director and project management team in the smooth delivery of large scale event installations from initial brief through to delivery. This is a busy environment where no two days will be the same and attention to detail is key. Experience within the production side of events and or marketing / design is preferred (but not essential if you have other relevant experience).
Most importantly, we are looking for candidates with a hard-working attitude, ambition and the drive to progress their career within a growing, dynamic company. You will be supported in your development and there will be scope to grow your career further.
You will predominantly work from our workshop and studio in Sittingbourne, Kent. Our office team is small, so you will need to be a self-starter who is able to manage their own daily task load, with support from the management team. Our office is within our workshop so you will also need to be comfortable within a workshop / warehouse environment, working alongside our creative build teams.
From May to September you will be required to work on site at a variety of locations both in the UK and abroad. You will need to be comfortable working within large teams of freelancers. You will be provided with subsistence and accommodation when working on location.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the company directors with day to day business administration, workshop / office management, logistics and project delivery
- Supporting project managers at on-site installations
- Updating production schedules and call sheets
- Booking travel and accommodation
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Supporting in sourcing and booking freelancers
- Communicating with suppliers to research materials and manufacturers
- Updating website content
- Supporting with social media & marketing
- Support in invoice processing
- Tracking expenditure within budgets
- Assisting with R&D for creative briefs and pitches
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Creative and able to see ideas through to completion
- Good computing skills, experience with Google Drive is a plus
- Keen eye for detail and quality control
- Confident manner and the ability to get on well with people at all levels
- Willingness to take on routine tasks within the department as and when required
- Some working out of office hours will be required
- Ability to function effectively within a small team and to remain calm under pressure
- Capable of taking on a varied degree of tasks and responsibility and of managing own workload efficiently
- Have at least two years production experience in the festival and events industry
- Ability to act with discretion when sharing information about projects with people outside the company
- Availability and transport to be able to work from our workshop location for a minimum of three days per week
- Availability and willingness to work from on-site locations when required
- Full UK driving license and car is essential
- Passion for visual arts, music, production and events industry
Desirable
- Some marketing / digital experience would be beneficial
- Experience of working with on site festival staff
Location
Work will be split between our office/ workshop and on-site for delivery of projects. Feb - May predominantly working at our office / workshop Sittingbourne then May - Sept a combination of on site (at festivals throughout the UK) and from our workshop in Kent (50 min drive from South East London). Candidates must be able to stay on site for two - three weeks at a time.
Office hours are 8:00 - 6:00pm
We are open to flexible working / working away from the office subject to delivery.
Salary £22,000 - £24,000 dependent on experience
