PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Fixed 6 month contract - with the potential of leading on to a permanent position.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working to the Producer & Production Manager (in your team), providing everyday support to the company, production teams and the building, from the start to finish on all projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES and AIMS:

In the office:

· Bookings and contractual services relating to all aspects of production.

· Client hospitality (teas/coffees/lunches)

· Printing, photo copying and binding, presentation materials

· Filing and photocopying

· File logging

· Client liaison /answering phone developing relationship with assigned clients to eventually take on more client related duties.

· Clearcast Administration & developing negotiation / compliance skills (advert clearance)

· Preparing and sending adverts to stations including rotation instructions via Caria

· Shoot Prep – including castings / locations sourcing / shoots / edits by collating various equipment, shopping, props.

· collecting and delivering equipment and production schedules

Around the building:

· filing and photocopying

· finding props

· collecting and delivering equipment

· keeping areas clean and tidy

· looking after guests, getting lunches and making tea and coffee

· Answer main phone line

· Keep kitchens clean and tidy, loading & unloading dishwashers

· Check & replenish stock of kitchen consumables

· Check & replenish water stocks

· Set up and clear meeting rooms

· Photocopy & basic filing

· Assist in set up of office areas, including furniture builds & moves

· Liaise with regular suppliers - order stock and resolve basic queries

· In set up of social events

· Collect and/or deliver recycling

· Maintain paper stocks for photocopier

· Help with archives

· Flag up any issues in the building

On the shoot:

· Hospitality to crew, clients and artists.

· Setting up refreshments area & replenishing

· Locking off areas of location from general public

· Liaising with various departments

· Liaising with caterers to ensure smooth lunch time

· Maintaining a clean tidy set, (regularly collecting rubbish)

· Responsible for petty cash.

QUALITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A natural self-starter who can manage their own workload to deliver good work on time
  • Strong organizational & administrative skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a real stickler for excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work on multiple projects
  • Keen to learn and understand up to date technical specs, shoot formats and post production work flows
  • IT literate, numerate and able to represent the company in person, on the phone and by email
  • Able to perform well in the ever-varying production environment
  • A clean driving license is required

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Good interpersonal skills – with the will to work as a key part of the production team
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and to have a flexible approach to the role in order to get the job done.
  • Keen to learn new skills to further enhance yourself and the team
