Job description
We are seeking a candidate looking to get into an engineering environment, to work as a Weld Kit Operative on behalf of our client, a successful manufacturing company based in Stanton, Suffolk. This is a permanent, full-time, employed position working 39 hours per week Mon-Fri.
No previous experience in Engineering is required, but a willingness to learn and be on your feet! If you’ve worked in warehousing or a picking/packing job this would be useful.
The Company
Our client has been designing and manufacturing machinery and accessories (on both a small and large scale) for global agricultural markets for over 48 years. They have achieved enormous success in their field due to their reputation for quality products and on-site engineering expertise. They are also a very stable employer, with high retention rates of staff and an excellent friendly, tidy, and safe working environment.
The Role
Working in a busy 90+ person engineering workshop environment, you’ll join the small weld kitting team, picking parts in readiness for them to be welded in-house and also packaged properly to be sent out to sub-contractors.
It is a hands-on, physical job that involves using the computer to log the movement of parts and components. Full training and guidance will be given, including forklift training.
Role Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be organised and previous experience working in a picking/packing or warehouse position would be advantageous.
The ability to listen – watch and learn – plus use initiative is essential as is an enthusiasm to apply yourself to new things.
Candidates who wish to be considered will ideally have the following:
· A keen interest in Manufacturing Engineering
· Experience in a warehouse / stores or picking/packing job would be ideal
· An ability to work well independently and as part of a team
· IT literacy and a good level of written English
· The ability to communicate effectively
· Own transport is essential due to the village location as there is no access to public transport
Hours
39 standard hours as follows: 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 15:30 each Friday. Please note that those interested in the role must be willing to be flexible with their working hours on occasion. There is usually regular overtime available (mid-week paid at time and a third and over the weekend paid at time and a half or double time) however this is not contractually guaranteed.
Pay
Starting rate is national minimum wage, plus overtime paid at time and third for mid-week overtime, time and a half on a Saturday and double time on Sundays. Overtime is nearly always offered but is not contractually guaranteed as it is dependent on business needs.

Please be aware that our client is in a village which is not accessible via public transport therefore interested candidates will require their own means of transport to get to work and back.
