Product Safety & Reliability Engineer
(Glasgow/Reading/Flexible/Hybrid)
Summary
An opportunity has arisen for the joint role of Product Safety & Reliability Engineer within the Thales UK Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) organisation.
This role will directly contribute to the on-going development of Thales OME Land, Naval, Air and Autonomy products and systems.
The role holder will have suitable qualifications, relevant experience in engineering design/delivery and its lifecycle and be able to demonstrate appropriate behaviours and skills.
The role will be responsible for providing support to the Safety and Technical authorities, the Safety Engineering team and the wider organisation.
This role will involve a mix of reliability and safety analysis as required.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this role is to identify to the Safety Authority any concerns regarding the reliability or safety of a product, or the application of policies and processes and to provide reliability analysis and safety management in support of products.
Responsibilities:
Point of contact for safety & reliability queries, providing support to Project Safety Managers and Project Design Authorities.
Support development of tailored planning and management of safety and reliability programmes, from bid to production phase.
Generate safety artefacts such as Safety & Environmental Management Plans, Hazard Identification, Legislation Reporting, Safety & Environmental Case Reports.
Generate reliability artefacts such as Reliability Plans, Reliability Predictions, Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, Reliability Case Reports.
Support/manage multiple reliability and safety programmes.
Key Skills & Behaviours:
Experience in the implementation and delivery of reliability and/or safety activities.
Ability to build positive and effective relationships with stakeholders, including team members and Customers.
Attention to detail.
Willingness to share knowledge, develop others and learn.
Applicants must be holders of or eligible for UK SC Level Security Clearance.
