As Product Owner, you are part of a team responsible for experimenting with cutting-edge technologies, delivering solutions by testing and learning and developing strong partnerships to enable growth through innovation and agile methodologies.

How you will contribute

  • Gain a deep understanding of product and users in order to make effective decisions
  • Provide the product vision and direction to the team & stakeholders
  • Translate high level requirements into detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Act as primary liaison between stakeholders and development team, to answer queries in a timely fashion
  • Prioritise work and deliver to tight timescales, demonstrating good organisational, communication and administrative skills
  • Be responsible for producing, maintaining, and prioritising the Product Backlog.
  • Conduct story writing workshops with the end user at the start of each roll out, collaboratively write user stories and agree on acceptance criteria.
  • Work with design review boards and community of practice teams for development & testing review sessions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the teams requirements and act as a proxy between the stakeholders and development team to effectively progress development solutions.
  • Work in close partnership with the development team, participating in sprint planning and making decisions when re-prioritisation or requirement changes arise.
  • Act as owner/champion for the product, setting appropriate product development methods, tools and techniques.
  • Liaise with the users and internal stakeholders, act as advocate for the business.

What you will bring

The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of technical skills and experience and the behavioural competencies that we believe are key to success in the role. Specifically we’re looking for someone who has:

  • A passion for technology and creating products that people want to use.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure that products are delivered on time, to budget and to agreed levels of quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – your role will involve lots of communication tasks; from articulating your vision, documenting product knowledge, engaging people internally and externally to running workshops and demos.
  • Excellent team and relationship-building skills, with both internal and external parties engineers, operational leads business stakeholders, etc.).
  • Experience in implementing change initiatives and leading change.
