About the role

The Post Order Product team is responsible for delivering brilliant, digital post-purchase experiences, from the point when our customers have completed checkout, to the day they receive their order & beyond. For many shoppers, it can be the part of the shopping journey when they experience the most uncertainty and need the most support.


As a team, we deliver customer & business value by executing across our key digital channels; the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app & the tesco.com website, as well as post order service communications, across our Group markets in the UK, Republic of Ireland & Central Europe.


We are looking for a driven, motivated & experienced Product Manager to join our amazing product team. If you want to make a direct impact on our customers' experience by:

You will be responsible for

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the outcomes and driving forward the strategic roadmap that will deliver the best possible digital Post Order customer experience. Specifically, you will own a compelling strategy & roadmap and drive the backlog for some key Post Order themes; Order Tracking & Self-Service Resolution of Declined Payments for all online fulfilment methods (Home Delivery, Click+Collect, Whoosh & Marketplace).


You will work within a Value Stream & Squad structure, collaborating & aligning closely with UX Design & Research (UXDR), Analytics, Engineering, Operations & Customer Experience teams, to drive forward & support research, discovery, delivery & on-going experimentation & optimisation.


While specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the evolving needs of the Tesco retail business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:


  • Have complete responsibility for the themes in your remit, involving multiple internal/external stakeholders.
  • Formulate and execute the vision, strategy and roadmap for the themes in your remit, aligning this with wider strategic priorities set out in the business plan & technology plan.
  • Quickly build market knowledge and assess new product opportunities for Post Order.
  • Engage with stakeholders to set the strategy, roadmap, and OKRs, and drive prioritisation of deliverables.
  • Lead discovery work for new problem/opportunity areas, collaborating with user experience design & research (UXDR) and engineering teams to prototype and validate assumptions, ideas and experiments.
  • Effectively document and articulate new requirements to the engineering team using user stories and acceptance criteria and help the team in breaking down a complex piece of work/ epic into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
  • Day-to-day co-ordination of Scrum team, including management of ceremonies and process optimisation/inspection.
  • Respond and prioritise fixes for live issues and continuous improvement.
  • Update stakeholders and leadership on progress against strategy & OKRs, impact of releases & features at regular forums e.g. Online Monthly Product Review (OMPR).
  • Close engagement with API teams and collaboration across app and API capability teams to ensure consistent prioritisation.
You will need

Experience relevant for this job:


  • Clear understanding and experience of product management, including best practices, ways of working, and Agile working processes.
  • Strong experience in product discovery.
  • Have launched at least one MVP product from ideation to delivery.
  • Clear understanding of customer experience metrics and KPIs.

  • A methodical/ analytical approach and great problem-solving skills.
  • Attitude and the aptitude to learn new product area/domain quickly.
  • Great presentation and persuasion skills.
