Lead Product Manager
£59,000-£63,000
Reports to: Head of Product Portfolio
Department: Chief Operating Office
Contract: 12 month fixed-term contract
Hours: Full time 35 hours per week
We're open to a variety of ways of working, including full time, part time, job share and compressed hours.
Location: Stratford, London. Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

The Lead Product Manager at Cancer Research UK plays an invaluable role in our Technology team by overlapping business objectives, customer needs, and technology development. We are looking for a Lead to maximize value within our Fundraising and Trading portfolio by defining and owning the product portfolio to meet Cancer Research UK’s strategic objectives.
Our Marketing, Engagement, and Philanthropy products cover our CRM and marketing tools which are key to engaging with millions of supporters every year and inspiring them to join us in our mission to beat cancer! You will lead the Product Managers in your team in ensuring the success of Cancer Research UK by evolving these products to improve user experience, increase efficiency, reduce costs, drive revenue, and improve quality.
To be successful in this role, it’s important you enjoy leading teams in transforming products to meet business needs and drive forward strategic success, are excited by experimentation, and have a passion for agile ways of working.
What will I be doing?
  • Line-managing a team of eight Product Managers covering marketing, CRM, and supporter services products
  • Being accountable for your team owning products end to end throughout their life cycle. This includes defining the appropriate strategy and ensuring any associated business and support processes are in place
  • Owning the strategic direction of your product portfolio working closely with stakeholders and end-users across the organization (e.g. Technology, Marketing, Philanthropy etc)
  • Tracking and managing the product team’s performance, costs, supplier contracts, and suppliers (where applicable) whilst ensuring consistent delivery on defined and agreed on OKRs
  • Working with Senior Portfolio Manager to set and manage the appropriate budget for your portfolio, working in partnership with Delivery and Operations team to regularly forecast and effectively track spend
What skills are you looking for?
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and developing Technology Product Management teams
  • Hands-on product management experience across different stages of the product lifecycle
  • The ability to communicate effectively across organizational, technical, and internal boundaries whilst understanding the context to ensure clear outcomes and roadmaps are defined
  • Experience in working cross-functionally with agile, empowered teams
  • Built and maintained strong relationships in evolving circumstances
  • The ability to influence at all levels of the organization
