Role Overview
As a Product Manager at Cambridge Spark, you will join the product and technology team reporting to the Head of Curriculum, to develop, manage and maintain learning products throughout the whole product lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including content developers, subject matter expert trainers, content developers and curriculum team to develop our high-quality training programmes. In addition you will support the delivery, sales and marketing teams with the adoption and roll out of new programmes into BAU.
Key responsibilities:
- Product lifecycle management: own your products through development, maintenance and continuous improvement, prioritising updates and managing the product backlog.
- Product design: Work closely with the Head of Curriculum and subject matter experts to develop course outlines that meet the needs of our learners and employers.
- Product development planning:Develop robust plans to deliver different elements of the product breakdown structure on time and on budget.
- Requirements gathering: Work closely with our learners, SMEs and other stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements for curriculum content, functionality, and user experience.
- Content management: Oversee the creation, coordination, and maintenance of curriculum content, ensuring it aligns with educational standards, pedagogical best practices, and the organisation's strategic objectives.
- User experience: Champion the learner-centric approach, ensuring that the curriculum products provide an engaging, intuitive, and effective learning experience.
- Product testing and quality assurance: Follow processes and protocols for testing curriculum content, conducting quality assurance checks, and gathering feedback from stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
- Iterative development: Embrace an iterative product development approach, continuously gathering feedback and data to drive improvements and iterate on curriculum offerings.Analyse, investigate and act upon customer feedback, ensuring that learner and employer needs and concerns are addressed, and their input is considered in future product iterations.
- Product launch and adoption: Develop and execute plans for adoption of new curriculum products, within the delivery and sales team, including communication plans, training materials, and support resources to drive product adoption and ensure a successful launch and handover into BAU.
- Performance analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to curriculum product usage, learner outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Learning Platform: support with the identification, prioritisation and adoption of new features within the Cambridge Spark learning platform, and leverage new features to accelerate the continuous improvement of existing learning products.
Candidate Specification:
Essential
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role (experience from the tech industry and/or startups preferred.
- Strong skills in product development planning, including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders, create development plans, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Proficient in requirements gathering, documenting detailed requirements.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective in cross-functional collaboration, working with diverse teams to successfully develop and deliver products.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Skilled in product testing, quality assurance, and iterative development, continuously improving curriculum offerings based on feedback and data analysis.
- Proficient in the use of technical collaboration & communication tools such as Google Workspace, Looker Data Studio & learner management systems.
Desirable
- Proficient in Git version control system, with the ability to navigate repositories, understand branching and merging concepts.
- Familiarity / interest in Education & EdTech, including apprenticeship, bootcamp, MOOCs, etc..
