This role is vital to Broadband’s continued growth, ensuring we have products that excel in all market segments.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the development of the Business Broadband product, working closely with Propositions, Commercial, Service, Digital and Networks.
You’ll manage the product roadmap and launch developments and enhancements into the sales channels, clearly communicating the benefits and differentiation. You’ll work closely with Digital and Networks to define developments, using Agile methodologies to best advantage.
You’ll support proposition requests from the channels in relation to the access portfolio, e.g. launch of new features, functionality and bundles to meet revenue and volume targets.
You’ll conduct post-delivery reviews, ensuring business case benefits are being delivered and that the customer and colleague experience is working well.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifies new features / bundles / products by understanding and analysing user needs, BT Group's current product suite and business requirements of internal functions like sales and delivery.
- Contributes towards the continual assessment of customer needs, evolving the product strategy to deliver against those needs and maintain a market leading position.
- Collaborates with analytics and engineering teams, and interfaces with cross functional stakeholders e.g. sales, propositions, marketing, legal, and customer success teams to fulfil the product backlog using Scrum/ Agile methodologies.
- Drives delivery of developments, agreeing Minimum Viable Product and building on this until the full product is delivered.
- Creates and develops high quality work for product road mapping, mock-ups, proof of concepts, specification writing and product schedules.
- Ensures accurate and formal product documentation such as feature sheets and user guides.
- Contributes to the building of data points and tracking (via Digital) to enable the product to be managed in life. This includes building data tools, pipelines, analytic dashboards and visualisations.
- Mentors other product management professionals, helping to improve the team’s abilities by acting as a technical resource.
- Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in product management.

- Business acumen: Ability to influence and shape your product to meet changing customer requirements or reacting to competitive threat. Understand the commercial impact of your changes.
- Market Insight: Knowledge of the broadband market and the competitive landscape as well as an understanding of customer requirements relevant to broadband products and networks.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills: Ability to engage frequently at the senior manager & director level within BT and externally i.e. industry working groups and with suppliers.
- Analytical: Strong skills in building the case for change and drawing on data and analytical techniques to present and articulate where required. Define objectives and key results (OKR).
- Technical: A good understanding of how broadband works, is provided, and carried across BT networks.
