Tasks
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Product Owner or Manager ready to take control of product development within an early-stage startup.
You’ll work directly with our founders to take translate their vision and convert it to actionable requirements.
We have a high-level roadmap of upcoming projects, but as you settle we’ll look to you to take full ownership of this.
As our first Product Manager we’ll look to you to establish best practice product processes and workflows.
Through the processes and relationships you develop, you will create influence over the technical direction of engineering. Working closely with Tech Leads to find technical compromises where necessary, manage dependencies and improve estimates, reporting and cadence.
You’ll also provide quality control and sign-off before new features are pushed to production.
We rely on various 3rd party plugins across our platform. You’ll quickly own vendor relationships, ensuring we are using the right products, in the right places and getting the most value.
You’ll conduct user research and competitor analysis to help inform decisions, working to get closer to our users and understanding the wider industry in which we operate.
No day will be the same! There will be times when you will need to wear multiple hats per day - high-level strategy, refining day-to-day requirements and also driving features through the development process.
As the platform grows our product function will too. This role offers a quicker route to CPO than most and we will support your growth to get there (if that’s what you want).
Requirements
- Your previous job title is much less important than your attitude, experience and approach but we expect you have spent time as either a Product Owner or Product Manager.
- It's important that you have worked in an early-stage startup before, so that you understand the pressures and the need to wear multiple hats.
- We’re open-minded about the products you have worked on. Indeed a fresh perspective on the automotive industry could be advantageous in this role but ideally you will have some B2C exposure.
- We work predominantly remotely and we expect to have offshore team members in the future so it's crucial you have experienced the nuances and challenges of working with a distributed team.
- This role comes with lots of influence over the strategy and direction of both the business and the product function but you must also be enthusiastic about the day-to-day activities that make this possible - refining requirements & user stories, documenting, reporting and sign-offs.
This is a unique opportunity for a Product Manager given where we are in our growth. We have gained rapid traction through 2022, with 100K+ cars on our platform and lots of opportunities to develop multiple revenue streams.
Our user numbers have skyrocketed as we continue to invest in marketing, with CAC well below targets.
You’ll work closely with the founders as the first member of our product team.
