Job Purpose:


Reporting to the Product Governance Manager and responsible for change management and the update and maintenance of all underwriting artefacts as part of HSB’s new and existing product development processes.


The role will ensure that, in addition to the update of product artefacts, all product and process tracker logs are updated enabling an efficient product development process which is both transparent and auditable. The role will also have responsibility for coordinating the USS policy administration system development backlogs including the escalation of change requirements forming part of current product development.

This role will be an essential link between other key roles within USS ensuring ongoing communication of outstanding actions with regard to product development are visible and progress trackable.

This role is key to ensuring that the product development process runs efficiently in support of HSB’s 2025 growth ambitions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Management of product documentation development and maintenance process ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and appropriate storage and audit trail.
  • In liaison with USS product leads, updates to underwriting guidance documents with the appropriate level of communication to the business.
  • In liaison with the USS product leads, updates to the Product Development Registers and Product Logs.
  • Coordination and maintenance of the USS policy administration systems development backlogs.
  • Maintenance of all facility product documentation produced by HSB policy administration systems.
  • Support to the business segments with regards to product changes being cascaded through to product offerings.
  • Guidance to the business on product governance process and procedures.
  • Support of companywide projects and initiatives.


Key Skills & Experience:


Essential


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time management.
  • Accuracy and diligence in drafting of documentation.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a small team and independently.


Desirable


  • Knowledge of HSB’s product lines and underwriting processes.
  • Understanding of product development process.
  • Basic insurance product knowledge.
  • Understanding of policy administration system development processes.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:


Desirable


  • Intermediate level achieved for all Underwriting Foundation product modules.
