Product Engineer for Northville, MI to design & develop thermoelectric systems and products to meet customer requirements; launch systems & products into production; define system requirements; create DVP&R; perform design reviews; support product testing, validation & initial sampling evaluation for production launch; resolve design-related production issues. Requires Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field & 2 yrs experience in mechanical, electrical and/or automotive engineering position(s): performing design reviews for automotive applications; creating & maintaining documentation to support APQP processes and project deliverables, including system DVP&R, DFMEA, 2-D drawings and 3-D models; leading product improvement & cost reduction efforts during the product lifecycle; assisting with quoting & engineering change management processes; designing, building, testing & validating prototypes for production; launching automotive systems & products; acting as a technical liaison between customers & project management; assisting in establishing system specifications in accordance with customer requirements; providing conceptual design input for CAE and/or CFD analysis and integration of automotive system components; and maintaining & improving compliance guidelines for automotive applications.
