What's the role about?

As part of our Womenswear Production department, you'll be joining as our Product Developer for Footwear and Accessories, who works with Design, Merchandising, Technical and Head of Product to ensure Reiss maintains strong supplier relationships and innovative product development through the supply base. This role also is responsible for creating and managing the product critical path for the department and ensuring each product target margin is achieved, with support from Head of where necessary. Responsible for managing the production critical path, sample approvals and bulk testing on Accessories categories.

This is a 6 months fixed term contract (maternity cover)



Who you are

  • You have previous experience in Womenswear Footwear and Accessories production within an office environment
  • Excellent understanding of the critical path
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Self- motivated and team oriented


What you'll be doing

  • Working with design team to develop product ranges that meet business criteria for design, price, quality and delivery in line with range plan
  • Management of option maps with style names, colours, ranging, coo, and margin. Preparing for pre buy / buy meetings, chasing suppliers and ensuring all correct SMS are presented
  • Negotiating delivery date at time of placing order in line with merchandising requirements
  • Ensure that Leather, fabric, and trims meet business performance and aftercare standards. Review and approve bulk test reports, and highlight all potential issues in a timely and effective manner to the relevant departments
  • Lead fit sessions with Design and complete Buy sample, PP sample and pre-shipment sample comments, ensuring they are sent within the CP deadlines, management of test report approvals, highlighting any issues prior to XF
  • Responsible for all product pricing and achieving target margin. Find solutions to ensure all product hits target margin but remains within design vision
  • Drive supplier selection and take responsibility for cost price negotiation. Ensure detailed costing breakdowns are received from suppliers and engineered to price point
  • Management of costing sheet in vision and margin roll
