Role Description:
We're looking for an experienced designer who can understand complex problems and distil maximum business and customer value. Your mission is to drill deep into research evidence, help to identify and articulate user needs and respond to them with innovative feature ideas and solutions. You're responsible for the quality of the product and the way people feel about using it.
Working in 6-week cycles, you'll harness the creativity of a mixed discipline, fully remote team to find the most feasible, desirable, and viable solution to 'users'' needs and problems. Join us as we strive to make visits to the dentist frictionless for thousands of practices across the globe.
The role is 100% remote within the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Helping guide the vision for Dentally by leading design and user experience initiatives for our core product.
- Communicating designs through storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups.
- Working closely with engineers and product managers at every stage of discovery, design & development
- Advocating for our users by continuously measuring, iterating on, and evolving the user experience of our core products.
- Lead design feedback sessions, both with internal and external stakeholders, to validate assumptions and solutions.
- Helping shape the culture and direction of the design team.
- Helping us continue to hire amazing people to grow the design team and bring diverse perspectives to our design process.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience at a minimum at a digital software company
- Synthesise insights from qualitative and quantitative evidence
- Use appropriate design methods to find the most effective solutions
- Articulate clear reasoning behind design decisions
- Use metrics to assess the performance of a solution
- Use the most appropriate level of fidelity to test assumptions and ideas
- Strong skills in Figma
- Understanding of design systems/frameworks
- Spend time talking directly to customers
- Experience owning products from start to finish, working with developers and PMs.
- Experience working at both a startup and a larger company, a plus
