Technology Transformation Project Manager (Agile/Lean/Software)

Base location is flexible across KPMG's offices.

Background and Purpose

KPMG UK Audit are undertaking a strategic transformational change programme to ensure continued high quality, support sustainable business growth and foster sustainable career paths for all our people. As a result, there are multiple exciting opportunities within the Change Management Centre of Excellence (CMC) to support technology projects being developed by our Technology Innovations Hub.
We are seeking a broad range of individuals who can offer one or more of the following skills and experience; technology transformation, project management, process redesign and digital solution experience to be able to take ownership and drive the creation, management, and delivery of complex technology business projects.

The team:

The CMC is recruiting Technology focused transformation project managers to support the KPMG Innovations hub develop cutting-edge technology products to enable Audit's strategic transformation. The team works in close collaboration with the Audit function by combining audit expertise with the latest technology. This allows them to truly understand the challenges our audit colleagues face every day and to develop indispensable products that make their lives easier, whilst promoting Audit Quality.

As an integral member of their team, you will be working with a talented mix of Product Owners/Managers, Solution, Cloud and Enterprise Architects, Cloud and Software Engineers, Experience Designers, Business Analysts and Testing specialists to design, build, deliver, and manage a portfolio of truly exciting products.

Summary of role:
As a Technology Transformation Project Manager , you'll manage projects to deliver the
end-to-end product development/implementation lifecycle for the Audit business. Such projects will encompass the conception, definition, delivery, monitoring, refining, and withdrawing of products from Audit to maximize business results.
The right candidate will be experienced in agile product development, lean process development, and have demonstrated balance between technical mastery and strong leadership and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities - Our Technology Transformation Project Managers:
  • Manage projects that develop and deliver technology product road maps in conjunction with the Digital Product Team (Product Manager/Owner, Solution, Cloud and Enterprise Architects, Cloud and Software Engineers, Experience Designers, Business Analyst and Testing specialists).
  • Manage the planning, governance and reporting of technology transformation projects ensuring timely delivery of outputs and stakeholder satisfaction. This will include as a minimum:
    • ensure adherence to governance procedures reporting status to key Stakeholders
    and Senior Management
    • create the project plan, track and report timelines, budgets, backlog velocity, and
    quality during the entire life of the product.
    • manage issues and risks as they occur including escalating when appropriate.
    • contributing to process improvement
    • ensuring stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other parts of our internal technology function and across the Audit Business
  • Adopt and share standards, tools, best practices, principles for cost, quality, and productivity improvement with colleagues
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, team members, subject matter experts and diverse stakeholders (inc. third parties to assess partnerships where applicable)
  • Focus teams on what is most important for delivery of the products and business requirements.
  • Maintain good exposure and develop knowledge in new techniques, products, services, technologies, and standards
  • Work with Capability Leads to identify and build team structures to enable delivery aligned to the agreed product road maps.
  • Adhere to and promote Information Security related processes, Software Audit Tools accreditation requirements, procedures, and role-based responsibilities
  • Adhere to and promote KPMG values


Desired skills and experience
  • Be passionate about technology
  • Have experience across the technology product lifecycle.
  • Have solid project management skills in initiation, analysis, design, test, and transition. This is likely demonstrated through a Project Management Professional qualification and Agile SCRUM certification or applicable proven experience.
  • Proven track record of delivery using agile project management and lean process methodologies in a complex environment.
  • Use blended approaches depending on context with the ability to reflect and adapt to ensure delivery happens.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, handle quickly changing priorities on multiple projects, and be capable of managing resources to achieve maximum results
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have a history of building solid relationships with customers and teammates. Knows how to bring people together to form motivated and collaborative teams.
  • Be skilled in stakeholder management and strong in both verbal and written communication
