An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Product Delivery team within British Airways’ Global Revenue function. The team is responsible for improving the revenue quality received through indirect channels. Alongside this, the team is tasked with coordinating the relationship with a third-party service provider that support key activities in the department. To be successful in the role, the candidate will be comfortable with data and reporting to further optimise British Airways’ selling systems and processes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter willing to bring forward new ideas, working with multiple collaborators in the delivery.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be an active problem solver, passionate about technology, willing to sharing your expertise to support the business, and always on the look out to challenge the status quo to deliver change and innovation.
About the role
- Design and deliver technical solutions to enable successful implementation of commercial and operational initiatives.
- Lead and collaborate with cross functional groups comprising of customers, subject matter experts, and service providers in order to develop creative solutions to business challenges.
- Proactively identify harmful booking practises and work with other commercial areas utilising BA’s selling systems to minimise adverse revenue leakage.
- Influence the design of new products and processes by working with industry bodies to ensure developments meet BA’s requirements.
- Strong understanding of quality control concepts and measurement methodologies.
- Proactively find opportunities for the exploitation of selling system capabilities to improve the benefit to BA of existing and emerging technologies.
About you
- Sound understanding of product management processes.
- Sound understanding of airline commercial processes, airline products, and airline products distribution.
- Good understanding of programme and project management, including Agile methodologies and working with software engineering teams.
- Strong analytical skills and making fact-based decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and influence partners at all levels and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a Commercial Pricing, Availability and Price Distribution, Revenue Management, Reservations, or ticketing role desirable.
- Understanding of at least one higher level programming language desirable e.g., SQL
