Interview Date - 14th September 2023
- To assist patients to carry out personal care including meeting hygiene, nutrition and continence needs.
- To assist patient to mobilise where appropriate.
- Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height and weight on instruction from the qualified nurse. Recording the results appropriately and reporting any abnormalities to the Nurse or Nurse in Charge.
- Testing specimens and recording the results.
- Under the supervision of the qualified nurse, support patients undergoing clinical procedures ensuring their comfort and safety
- To restock departmental areas as required reporting any shortages to the NiC/Ward Manager.
- To adhere to the policy for the Control of Infection.
- To maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business.
- To participate in quality assurance programmes as required.
- To participate in the promotion of a positive learning environment and to act as a role model at all times.
- To be aware of and contribute to Clinical Governance arrangements/issues for area of work.

- No previous experience as a HCA or in care is necessary, however you must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and a compassionate attitude towards working with patients
- A commitment to completing all training including the Care Certificate if appropriate.
- Healthcare related NVQ, BTEC or equivalent at Level 3
- National Care Certificate
- Maths and English GCSE passes at grade D or above.
- Previous care experience
The minimum part time hours for this role are 23 hours per week.
