Where in the world of OVO will I be working? As OVO moves closer to 5m customers, we are starting to reshape our data teams to enable our strategy to provide a world leading, carbon net zero, and rich customer journey experience. The data teams operate in a federated structure, with both central and embedded teams, to support our growing scale and ambition. You will be part of the centralised data team, aligned to one of the various business domains across Operations and Commercial. This includes providing analytical insight to help OVO teams achieve their goals and working alongside data scientists to develop insight into OVO’s data products. You may be working across a range of projects within OVO, for example Zero Carbon Living, Next Best Action, Smart Metering or Industry Operations. The projects you work on will vary in size and scope on a frequent basis. What will I be doing? Sharing and presenting key insights to the stakeholders through storytelling and visualisation techniques. Turning teams' goals and hypotheses into well defined data analysis tasks and elaborate upon the Key Performance Metrics. Collaborating with the Heads of various business units to ensure they are supported with the data insights they need to be effective. This includes managing incoming requests and promoting opportunities for analytics to help them achieve their goals. Partnering with business teams and aligning with their objectives. Develop and support self-serve performance analysis & decision making. Providing high quality inference focused analytics in cross-functional teams and becoming an SME to bridge the gaps between the business and technical teams. Working with multiple data sources including cloud data-lakes as well as function specific databases, combining analytical and business knowledge to deliver actionable insight. Devising processes and systems which allow for better self serve data access, leading to higher data management maturity and more opportunities for automation and innovation Is this the job for me? 1+ years in a similar data or analytical role. You will be experienced in core analysis technologies, with excellent SQL & Excel/Sheets skills Can confidently build and present meaningful data visualisations, in Excel/Sheets and ideally a dashboarding platform such as Tableau. Can interpret graphical representations of data and make recommendations. Statistical knowledge including sampling, significance, hypothesis testing and basic probability theory Highly numerate & analytical, able to delve into the detail but understand the strategic view Able to document and version control your work so others can pick it up and build on it Proven ability to engage productively with internal and external stakeholders and hold suppliers effectively to account for performance and meeting commitments. Experience of working in a fast paced environment where prioritisation is required Excellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate results clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
