Derby City Council are offering the opportunity to join our Procurement Service in a new role created to assist the team in delivering value for money for the people of Derby.
We are looking for candidates who can use their own initiative to work independently, as part of a support team, and also the wider Procurement team as required.
There are three posts on offer.
Post 1 – to work with the Peoples Services support team
Post 2 – to work with the Community Services support team
Post 3 – to work with the Corporate Services support team
Supporting a Principal Procurement Officer, the role will include the following types of work:
- Managing procurement processes in conjunction with Council directives in order to deliver compliant and effective outcomes for the Council.
- Preparing, checking and proof-reading tender documentation for consistency and accuracy.
- Analysing and interpreting tender responses to inform the evaluation process.
- Providing guidance and support to other Council departments responsible for undertaking devolved procurement activities.
- Maintaining an accurate and up to date register of all live contracts in order to provide a source of information for Council officers and to comply with open data requirements.
- Providing oversight and guidance to support the effective management of a range of contracts.
- Collection and analysis of data to support procurement projects as they arise.
It is essential that you are qualified to A’ level standard or equivalent.
The team operates a hybrid working model with attendance at the Council House, together with some home working
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
