Role: Procurement Manager - Logistics (£65K)
Salary: Up to £65K + 20% Bonus + Excellent Package
Location: Manchester (1 - 2 days p/w in the office)
Are you a Procurement professional with experience of developing Logistics category sourcing strategy and leading complex end to end procurement projects across the Warehousing, Distribution, Depot Network and Fulfilment categories? This is the perfect role if you demonstrable Logistics category management experience and thrive on designing and delivering category sourcing strategies in fast moving, product led, consumer facing, organisations.
Role:
As the Logistics Procurement Manager, you will:
- take end to end ownership of the commercial sourcing strategy for the Warehousing, Distribution, Depot Network and Fulfilment - leading a spend of c£500m
- build effective relationships with the key Logistics and Supply Chain stakeholders spanning multiple business units supporting both the retail store network and online fulfilment channels.
- In turn, you will nurture and develop these relationships in order to drive collaboration through consensus in order to deliver innovation and improved value for the business across the breadth of the Logistics category
- utilise strong commercial acumen to create clear and compelling category plans - balancing cost, quality, and risk
- independently and autonomously execute these category plans using strategic sourcing methodology to deliver best commercial and operational outcomes including cost and working capital improvement
- identify opportunities within the Logistics category to contribute towards the organisation's sustainability and Net Zero initiatives
Experience:
- Demonstrable Logistics Procurement Category experience, encompassing Warehousing, Distribution, Depot Network and Fulfilment
- Evidence of developing and implementing Logistics category plans and strategies
- Knowledge and experience of partnering with Tier 1 suppliers in this space - DHL, Wincanton, Kuehne and Nagel, GXO etc
- Excellent track record of engaging and influencing key stakeholders in a fast paced, B2C organisation
- Ideally some experience in the nurturing and mentoring of team members
- Legal awareness of contract risks & experience of drafting bespoke contract terms
- Degree qualified (or equivalent)
