The Opportunity
We're looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Supply Chain team. This is a brand new position at HeliosX, created for overseeing effective supply of finished goods, componentry, and raw materials from manufacturers to warehouses across all HeliosX brands and geographies. The Procurement Manager will also play a key role in developing the procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, improving service levels, and striking better deals on purchase prices without compromising on quality. They will also be a key stakeholder in supporting a range of cross-functional initiatives (e.g. sourcing and bringing new products to market).
Reporting to Senior Supply Chain Manager, this is a full-time permanent role. The successful candidate will have a hybrid working arrangement split between our site in Canning Town, (Central London) and working from home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the development of a strategic sourcing process, whilst developing the overarching procurement strategy.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and NPD teams to identify suppliers and source materials that are cost efficient and comply with quality specifications.
- Own all new vendor research and sourcing from initial conversations through assisting with contract negotiations.
- Manage contract renewals and pricing; negotiate with a range of suppliers.
- Ownership of benchmarking and market analysis to aid sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on packaging projects, optimising solutions from an operations perspective and communicating specifications/coordinating samples from suppliers.
- Plan and monitor stock requirements in order to service market demand, balancing shelf-life against commercial forecasts.
- Set inventory holding requirements and safety stock levels on key lines, and work with vendors to manage/optimise order cycles and lead times.
- Raise and communicate orders to vendors, managing POs through to delivery and resolving operational/inbound issues with the warehouse.
- Identify, implement, and track cost reduction strategies across the end-to-end supply chain.
What you'll bring to HeliosX
- Proven track record of experience in supply chain operations and procurement portfolio management (minimum 3 years).
- High level of data literacy (comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets, etc.), with examples of having used data to drive decision-making in procurement strategy.
- Strong data analysis skills; ability to interpret data, surface insights, and draw conclusions from data with examples.
- Experience with BI platforms such as Metabase or Looker.
- Examples of having worked independently with a high degree of accountability, while also being able to collaborate cross-functionally with a range of stakeholders to drive positive business outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or related fields.
Whilst not requirements, any of the following would be advantageous:
- CIPS qualified.
- Prior experience working in a start up/scale up, or within an ecommerce/D2C environment.
- Prior working experience in a related industry sector - beauty, personal care/skincare, or pharma all highly desirable. #LI-Hybrid
