Hamilton Gas Products Ltd was established in 1971 and is one of the leading wholesale distributors of gas equipment and appliances throughout the UK and Ireland.
An exciting new opportunity has now arisen for a hands-on Product Returns Operative to join a diverse, progressive and market leading Company. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-moving environment; therefore, they must be able to adapt, work quickly, and have great attention to detail.
This role is on a part time basis and could be ideal for an active retiree with practical experience and demonstrable competence in the manual handling of technical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all customer returns are processed in accordance with the standard operating procedures
- Working and liaising with cross functional departments. i.e., Warehouse, Technical and Customer Service
- Recording all product returns using the in-house accounting system
- Examine, test, and determine quality of stock (determine whether fit for resale or not)
- Assisting with returned goods for restocking, repair and/or returning to the supplier
- Prepare goods and liaise with suppliers for goods to be returned
- Product assembly and disassembly
- General Warehouse duties as and when required
Skills and Experience
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Must have good attention to detail
- Previous experience of assembling and disassembling of products, ideally within the leisure industry i.e. Patio heaters and BBQs
- Have the ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills and be able to effectively relay information to others
- Have the ability to work to deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
- Be able to work independently and use own initiative
- Would suit an active retired person who is good with their hands
Desirable
- Previous experience of using accounting/ERP systems
- Retail and/or distribution experience
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Valid driving license.
