We have an opportunity for a Process Development Technologist to join our Development team in Hamilton.

The Process Development Technologist will work as part of the development team to support the delivery of development strategy and process capability expansion and process innovation. Ensuring our bakery products are produced and delivered effectively to the satisfaction of our customers. They will support cross functional teams to deliver process development/innovation projects to agreed quality standard. Awareness of process excellence. Escalates any concerns on quality or project implementation

This is a fast paced role, where the successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills. They will have worked in a similar development position, and be able to plan, organise and control own resources to deliver trials to an agreed quality and timescales

This role is based in Hamilton, however a willingness to travel is required as the Process Development Technologist may occasionally visit our other sites.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As the Process Development Technologist you will trial and embed new products, processes and equipment into plant through data analysis and documentation. You will take control of raw materials and packaging required for trials and testing and manage customer interactions and expectations as required.

You will have a developing understanding and adhere to HSE, GMP and food safety standards across all Scottish Cake sites and support the co-ordination of all relevant input / output information to review with the relevant teams

Ideally this is you!

  • Degree preferred Food science / technology or similar degree / HND equivalent or relevant experience
  • Knowledge and interest of Food
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate – computer skills and knowledge of word and excel systems
  • Driving license
  • Basic or above Food hygiene
