We’re looking to recruit a Process Technican Trainee based at our Tadcaster site.
Your Purpose
As a Process Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our production plan across a number of tasks from monitoring the brewhouse panel, to supporting the paraflow and from managing the centrifuge, to overseeing the kegging process. Your role is likely to involve work that spans the full brewery and into the warehouse in such a way that no two days are likely to be the same.
Taking production from grains to beer is a technical process and you play a key role in flagging and resolving problems that could adversely affect the quality of our products or our ways of working.
Beyond this role, there are opportunities to train in additional tasks, receive formal accreditation from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and progress in to position of management.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will help to ensure production takes place and equipment is maintained in accordance with locally created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and hygiene standards.
- You will be involved in identifying the root cause of problems to ensure we are continually learning and following best practice while escalating issues if necessary.
- You will work with those around you to identify abnormalities and support in effective problem solving at pace.
- Support in the delivery of your teams production and financial plans
- In addition to this, you will contribute to process, quality and productivity improvements which will be reflected in revised SOPs.
- You will be involved in regular maintenance and quality checks to ensure critical equipment reliability is high and packaging processes are optimized.
- You should be aware of and will help to ensure that the team works within all relevant Hygiene and Environmental, Health and Safety legislation e.g Press Systems, Lower, Power, COSHH, HACCP, OSHA and FDA
- You will work as part of the wider production team to ensure the production environment is regularly cleaned, inspected and maintained.
- You will report on elements of production with a view to continuous improvement eg. defects and near misses.
- Work alongside the Quality Assurance team in the laboratory and the Brewing Trio to ensure our products hit the required benchmarks for quality and taste profiles.
- Support for materials handling team who work to ensure materials are available in the correct quantities at points of use across the site.

- Effective use of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Powerpoint

- Knowledge of supply chain
- Experience in stock control preferable.
- Computer literate and confident with SAP
