Changing Waste is an industrial processor of waste located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Through a variety of different processes that utilise the waste as a raw material to create a blend for anaerobic digestion, which in turn is used to generate electricity and gas that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Operator to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Process Operator is to receive and process incoming waste material ensuring that it is compliant with the permitted waste types in order to feed the plant accordingly, maximising energy output and cost-effectiveness by the smooth operation of the plant.
The day-to-day activities include:
- Operating de-packaging machinery consistently to optimise the recipe for the type of waste received and plant KPIs
- To safely and effectively tip trailers of waste
- To manage the cleanliness of the reception, pads, and overall site
- To maintain equipment effectively including; greasing, and routine maintenance checks. To ensure that reports any equipment defects or lack of resources to the Engineering Manager
The ideal applicant will have plant experience and basic Health and Safety knowledge. Someone with motivation to work as part of a team and an effective communicator. Must have a proactive and methodical approach to tasks.
Materials delivered in palletized format may require manual decanting before being fed by mechanical means into the hopper. Lifting, twisting, and turning whilst decanting will be involved with possible individual pack weights of up to 20kgs. The nature of the waste is mixed - food, oil, feathers, and glass are just some examples.
This will be 4 days on 4 days off, equals an 8-week cycle before repeating. 6am - 6pm Monday to Sunday with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break. Average hours per week 40.25
