We seek a dynamic engineer with an outgoing personality to become an internal technical sales engineer and product specialist. This business unit offers several key process technologies for the many liquid process industries. We are technology leaders for beverage and dairy industries, but we serve many other hygienic processes such as healthcare products.

Your responsibilities and tasks:

During education phase

  • Intensive theoretical product training both on and off site e.g., at factories or installed locations

  • Practical training, in house and on site

  • Technical selection training – engineering tools etc.

  • Process training (general processes and the application of our equipment)

  • Fluid dynamics training applicable to our technologies and processes

  • P&ID training – what they are, how to read and develop

  • Support technical sales team with customer technical and commercial proposals

  • Support the sales managers with sales and technical support

  • Specific product training objectives e.g., create a presentation and deliver to our team or a customer

  • Basic electrical knowledge including field bus systems

  • Basic automation training. Understanding the application of our technologies and how automation is integral to its operation

  • Health and Safety knowledge both in the office and when working on site

  • Understanding the portfolio

  • Maintaining a structured and logical approach to working with good housekeeping practices for paperwork / mails etc.

  • Understanding GEA’s sales software tools (e.g. SAP, CRM etc).

Upon completion of the training

  • Proactively and self sufficiently generate proposals to suit the customers’ demands

  • Support the technical manager with large project enquiries

  • Support the senior engineer with enquiries

  • Develop technical, commercial and sales documentation in support of the Sales Managers (large or bespoke projects)

  • Support the sales managers in delivering a technical presentation to our customers

  • Support the sales managers with proactive customer interaction e.g. quotation follow ups and prospecting

  • Provide specialist ad-hoc support via various communication technologies

  • On site specialist technical support

  • On site survey of equipment and processes

  • Delivering high quality and technically correct proposals to a deadline and under pressurized timeframes.

  • Talking to customers about valve and pump operations and maintenance.

  • Understanding and proposing the right machine type / spec for each circumstance.

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Craft and design study experience within school years

  • Keen interest in engineering

  • Good experience with general computer programs such as Office.

  • Team ethic

  • Enthusiastic personality
