The Process Engineer leads, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of process engineering projects, primarily within the extrusion department. The engineer is responsible for plant/area layout, equipment justification and use aimed toward maximizing utilization of personnel, tools, equipment and material, and documenting manufacturing methods and sequences. This is a hands-on position with room for growth within the organization.
An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees
Employee is responsible to:
- Project Management
- Prepare evaluations of and justifications for the procurement of new equipment through the capital appropriations process (CAPEX).
- Collaborates with team and stakeholders to develop equipment user requirement specification and other related documents.
- Leads the commissioning and validation of new equipment. Process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) on new and revised products and processes.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, developing and executing test protocols, experiments, process characterization and Ensures project deliverables fall within the applicable scope, budget, and meet the project deadline
- Process Development, Support & Improvement
- Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes or develop new ones utilizing scientific principles and best practices
- Support internal customers including but not limited to Manufacturing, Sales, Quality and others as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- 1-5 Years’ experience: Working in a manufacturing environment; experience in successfully planning and executing engineering projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree within Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or other related engineering discipline.
