We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Role Description:
The Enterprise Technology Platform Delivery team provide infrastructure solutions for many application teams both On-Premises and utilising External Cloud. We look to provide innovative and automated solutions to support the needs of our stakeholders.
We are looking for a DevOps Automation Engineer who will be working in our Cloud POD for automating/maintaining the deployment of various Infrastructure components, services and applications on the Google Cloud & Microsoft Azure Cloud platforms.
The role is truly DevOps covering all aspects of engineering, supporting a team Service Desk queue and encompassing 24*7 Prod Support (rota based)
- Candidate should have good understanding of external cloud (GCP preferable)
- Candidate should have a good understanding of ‘Infrastructure as Code’ concepts
- Engineering experience of 2 or more Automation & CICD Tools- Terraform / Ansible / Jenkins / Git / Groovy etc
- Should have good scripting knowledge
- Nice to have a knowledge of Kubernetes and/or automation experience of managing Kubernetes Clusters and Containers
- Should be able to work with different teams (spread across multiple locations) to develop a scalable, reliable, and resilient software running in the cloud.
- Good communication skills
- Extensive training options are available to work towards formal Cloud Engineer accreditations
The role will be based in Sheffield but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working (1-2 days in the office per week)
