Role Overview
We are looking for:
- A Process Engineer able to conduct process improvement studies and implement projects to achieve improvements;
- Participate in site process safety programs;
- Analyze process data and develop improvement/optimization strategies;
- Plan, organize, and lead the site process safety function to assure compliance with OSHA PSM regulation and Solvay policy;
- Conduct periodic audits of compliance to site procedures related to management of change and safety review procedures;
- Recommend and review capital spending plans for process improvement projects;
- Provide design and support to development of new unit and major existing process upgrades;
- Offgrade/Abnormal Batch Investigation & Participate in Process Improvement teams with other Process Engineerings, Maintenance and Operations;
- SQC analysis of products & develop action plans for variation reduction;
- Provide technical input to the process control training materials;
- Train production and other engineering personnel on Process Related items;
- Develop information for job and project cost estimates by preparing equipment lists, determining technical services needs, and vendor, contractor, and any outside consulting requirements;
- Providing supervision of engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of process control systems;
- Providing technical support for process design functions by preparing standards, equipment specifications, and verification of compliance with codes, standards & sound design principles;
- Work with equipment vendors on purchases, installation and configuration of equipment & systems.
We count on you for:
- Evaluate site process safety processes for adequacy and assure compliance to governmental regulations and Solvay policy;
- Insure the origination and maintenance of process safety policy, procedure, and safety review documents;
- Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing process safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities;
- Represent Solvay, USA through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees;
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and near misses; and in the development of corrective action plans where needed;
- Efficiently and effectively support the Emergency Response teams for Process Safety related items if needed as required by the Emergency Response Plan;
- Demonstrate through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; a personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace;
- Participate in weekly Plant safety meetings and plant safety initiatives;
- Submit, manage and implement Management of Change documentation paperwork as required;
- Stay familiar with current safety rules and regulations;
- Serve as backup to Technical Manager in terms of Site Emergency Response procedure;
- Responsible to maintain a quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 9001 2015 standard;
- Focus efforts in four areas which include Safety, Customer Focus, Excellence and Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability.
You will bring:
- Engineer's degree ( preferably Chemical Engineer);
- 0-10 years of experience in the Chemical Industry
- Broad knowledge of Chemical process technology;
- Working knowledge of unit operations;
- Working knowledge of process troubleshooting and improvement;
- Knowledge of OSHA PSM standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership skills are necessary for directing, motivating, and developing production technicians
- English language

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $90,000 to $110,000. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives
