Queen’s University Belfast in partnership with Creative Composites Limited have an exciting employment opportunity for a graduate to work on a project to develop advanced and innovative manufacturing tools and processes in sheet moulding of composite materials to deliver company growth and secure new markets.
Creative Composites (CC) is one of the UK’s most advanced composite manufacturers. We offer fast production of bespoke designs, producing very high-quality products, and delivering exemplary customer service. Current markets include high-end luxury automotive, off-highway, and medical sectors and we aspire to expand into the marine, defence, luxury automotive and logistical transportation markets.
This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Engineering graduate to work in Creative Composites (Lisburn, Co Antrim) on a 30-month collaborative project with Polymer Processing Research Centre (PPRC) at Queen’s.
The KTP Associate will lead on the delivery of the following key project stages under the guidance of company and academic supervisors:
- Stage 1 – Compression Moulding Process & Familiarization
- Stage 2 – Analysis & benchmarking, Reworking Levels
- Stage 3 – Temperature Monitoring & Control Systems
- Stage 4 – Energy Consumption
- Stage 5 – Industrial 4.0 enabled automation
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
- At least a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Completion of a relevant research project or student placement. Applicants should indicate how their experience could be applied to this post.
- Significant relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical or manufacturing processing systems.*
- Knowledge of quality systems within manufacturing.*
- May be demonstrated through the completion of a module, student project or placement.
