Job description
We're looking for a Bioprocess Engineer to join our awesome team.
You will join our R&D team in London, characterising mammalian tissue culture systems to support the production of cultivated fat. Working alongside brilliant engineers, biologists, and mathematicians, you will investigate the underlying mechanisms defining the bounds of our bioprocess.
At every step, you’ll play a huge role in shaping the future of food.
As a Bioprocess Engineer, you will work within our Bioprocess Development team to explore multivariate solution spaces bounded by cells, media, scaffold, and processes.
You will coordinate with the Models team to incorporate new instrumentation and hardware to monitor critical parameters in bench-scale systems.
Your talent for collaboration, reliability, and love of all things mechanical will make you an essential member of our team.
You should have:
A master's degree (or equivalent experience) in biochemical engineering, cell biology, biomanufacturing, or a related discipline
Experience designing and conducting independent cell culture experiments
Familiarity with stem cell culture
Experience with Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) software
Experience with analytical instrumentation
Experience writing SOPs
Excellent aseptic technique in biosafety cabinets
Enthusiasm, curiosity, and drive
Ideally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
Data analysis with non-Excel tools (e.g. R, python, Prism)
Hands-on experience with multiple reactor formats
Assay development
Spectroscopy (e.g. NIR, Raman, FTIR)
Project management tools
Sterile media preparation at 15-50 L scale
Tissue culture automation
