Job description
The Process Engineer will provide specialized support and expertise to develop business cases for new project initiatives by applying process engineering principles, methodologies, and tools to optimize processes and enhance project performance. The position is responsible for analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety for projects across all divisions. This individual will also identify areas of inefficiency, bottlenecks, and waste in business workflows and implement improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and overall project success. The success of the projects this position supports will have a direct impact to fulfill our mission of providing jobs and job training to those in the South Florida community with disabilities and other barriers to employment and offers a diverse workday and responsibilities.
The position requires a dedicated, organized, task-oriented and analytical individual that can self-manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. This position will work with process and data collection tools to present information in a concise and effective manner. Projects will vary in scope and complexity. The position will have direct access to and impact on key executive decision makers within the organization and may require direct communication with internal customers. Therefore, the individual will need to be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
The Process Engineer has the following, but not limited to, responsibilities:
1. Process Optimization: Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
2. Process Design and Development: Design new processes or modify existing ones to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of process changes.
3. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Utilize statistical methods and tools to make data-driven decisions and optimize process performance.
4. Process Documentation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation. Ensure that processes are well-documented and communicated effectively to stakeholders.· A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
· 3-5 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or production environment. Organizational skills are key to success in this position.
· High proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of MSTeams and SmartSheet a plus.
· Proficient in engineering software, data analysis tools, and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
· Knowledge of process simulation, visualization and modeling tools is a plus.
· Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on finding practical solutions.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and provide clear instructions.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
· Flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges.
· Aptitude for learning and leveraging lessons learned
· Trained in Lean Six Sigma methodology and analytics for business process improvements
