Job description
Catalent Pharma Solutions require a Process Engineer to join our Swindon manufacturing site to work within the Scale up & Commercialisation team on our innovative Zydis technology. The Process Engineer will be responsible for solving any technical challenges that may arise in the introduction of the new equipment, working in accordance with QbD and overcoming hurdles to meet business goals. The role also includes the requirement to undertake studies to build a design space for the product whilst adhering to regulatory requirements.
The role:
- To provide engineering expertise to develop and optimise new or existing processes to ensure the product meets the processing specification. This will include, but is not limited to; experimentation, data analysis, modelling and simulation.
- To use technical knowledge and project management skills to ensure that process scale up, demonstration and existing product development activities for Zydis products are completed in accordance with agreed timelines and in compliance with operations, customer and regulatory requirements for a robust manufacturing process.
- To investigate innovative technologies to improve sustainability, yield, quality, efficiency and understand the Product Development process.
- To develop engineering solutions and be proactive in resolving process problems and continuously improve the process.
- To conduct appropriate product development activities to allow a robust process within the product knowledge space to be developed.
- To provide technical support during the validation of products to achieve right first time introduction.
- To provide technical expertise and be proactive in resolving process problems and continuously improve the process.
- To design and execute experimental protocols to maximise process understanding
- Ensure new/existing equipment is capable, robust and safe, meeting the requirements of regulatory bodies.
- To make effective use of communication systems (i.e. internet) to maintain your personal knowledge and to aid timely resolution of process issues.
- To maintain an awareness of new technologies being developed by our competitors, industry trends and new applications for both the Zydis dosage form and/or new processes or process equipment that will increase the competitive advantage of Zydis technology.
- To plan own resources and prioritise activities to meet multiple project timelines, financial milestones and personal objectives.
- To contribute to and translate departmental strategies into operational plans and objectives.
- To be flexible in approach to working hours in order to achieve business goals.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the Line Manager.
The Candidate:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy or Chemical preferred), or related degrees or equivalent experience.
- Engineering experience in a development and/or technology transfer and manufacturing environment;
- Experience with designing process and Statistical process control;
- knowledge of fluid dynamics (advantageous)
